2013 Antique Extravaganza Weekends – September Event

For those lucky ducks that live or are traveling near Adamstown, PA/Lancaster County, DO NOT miss this event! Of all the places I’ve travelled to for antique treasures, Lancaster County has to be my favorite. Some of the most rare and exquisite antiques that I’ve ever seen in my life have come from this region. There’s a reason folks that they call this the “Antiques Capital of the USA.” For real.

A friend (thanks Evelyn!!) dropped me a note about this event…sadly I can’t attend, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t!!! In fact, you should go for me and then tell me what awesome treasure you found to add to your collection! This event includes dozens of antique stores, outdoor markets and dealers, as well as specialty shops.

When: September 26, 27, 28, 29
Where: 1819 Main St., Victoria, VA

For auction goers who collect early 20th century goods such as George Ohr pottery or Gustav Stickley furniture (my personal fav), then do not miss this opportunity to own some of these fine craftsman antiques at stellar prices.

The Richmond Antiques Spectacular at The Meadow Event Park

Looking for some high end primitives or good quality early American antiques? Then this show is for you. I haven’t been to this show in a while…which used to be held at the Showplace in Mechanicsville, VA…so looks like they have a new location this year. From what I remember of years past, its a great show…but if you are looking for flea market style bargains, you may want to skip this one. This is a show for serious collectors who are seeking that specific treasure for their personal collection. Lots of beautiful objects to look through however, so even if you just want to be inspired…you should attend!

When: November 23 & 24, 10am – 6pm – Admission is $5.00
Where: The Meadow Event Park, Doswell, VA

That’s it from me for now! If you know of another fun, upcoming event for this fall, send me a note and I’ll add to the list!

  1. SO great to “hear” your sassy voice again! So many wonderful events and such a perfect time of year to enjoy them. Thanks for the all those tips. I went to an estate sale last weekend at which (hold onto your straw hats!) everything was priced at 25 cents! They reallllllllly wanted to clear out that house. I got a cute brown ceramic teapot, a huge mid-century cotton flower print tablecloth … and what may be all of a large wooden art easel. For 75 cents, total. TIS the season!

    • A 25 Cent SALE!!! Sweet Mary! That is the kind of estate sale I want to attend. I’m going to one tomorrow near Petersburg and will hopefully manage to lug home a GIANT oak wardrobe. Will post photos soon! That’s why the walnut dresser has to go!
